3 Ways to Send Confirmation Emails from Airtable Forms
Most form services like Google Forms, SurveyMonkey, and similar tools have a built-in option to send a copy of the completed form to the person who submitted it.
But this feature isn’t available in Airtable forms. Here are 3 ways to achieve this in Airtable:
1. Use Fillout Forms
The best way to do this is by using Fillout forms instead of Airtable's native forms. Fillout lets you do much more than just collect responses. You can:
-
Send email notifications to form submitters
-
Automatically send PDF copies of submissions
-
Update existing Airtable records via form submissions
-
Access 100+ features not available with Airtable’s native forms
Fillout also offers a generous free plan that covers most common use cases. You can upgrade based on your needs.
2. Use Airtable Automation
If you want to do it natively inside airtable only, you can use automations.
Set up a simple automation in Airtable to send email notifications after a form submission. Just trigger the automation on form submission, use the email address collected from the form, and write a message like:
“Thanks for submitting your form. For your records, here’s what you submitted.”
You can then include the entire record as a list.
3. Use Automation tools
If you need flexibility and want to go beyond what Airtable's native automation offers, no-code tools like Make or Zapier are powerful options.
These tools let you connect Airtable with hundreds of other apps and services, so you can build custom workflows without writing any code.
For example, when someone submits a form, you can automatically:
-
Send a personalized email to the submitter with a summary of their responses
-
Notify your team via Slack or email
-
Create conditional workflows depending on the form answers
